making choices
when i was younger, i had my whole life planned in front of me. in the second grade, i was going to be a scientist. in the fifth grade i was going to be a teacher. in the seventh grade i was going to be a supermodel. as high school and college progressed, i didn’t have quite a finite plan, but i knew my class schedule and when work would fit in between it.
school’s over. as a...

when things feel stagnant
my life feels consumed with materialism and inefficiency. i have all these things around me that are supposed to make my happy, pretty, warm, etc. and yet, with all these things that are supposed to bring happiness and possibly productivity/creation, i lack all of that.
i’m not writing songs or stories. i’m not drawing or painting. i’m not learning constantly anymore. existence...

walking in los angeles can be lonely
i was once an oc baby. i was driven everywhere, and once i got my license, i drove myself everywhere.
then came berkeley, where i had to walk a whole mile to work or class! i shed ten pounds and loved moving (exercise has never really been my thing prior).
i’ve just relocated to la, and let’s just say like oc, nobody walks. the walk to starbucks today was lonesome. i saw only two...

Hey guess what?
I’m rebuilding a school. Who knew I would end up in construction? If you need someone to make concrete, sand walls, plaster & paint, I’m your girl. Tanz style of course (aka mixing sand and rocks and gravel and simba and water by hand into buckets).
Loving Tanzania. Food is good. Children are wonderful. Temperature and daily tasks, all a gift from the universe. Thanks for this...
