When did 21 become too old for love?

I am 21. I’ve dated quite a bit in the last three years I’ve been in college. I’ve yet to find anyone I’d want to grow old with.

Today I had a conversation with a friendish person. All of a sudden, s/he brought up the idea of the ticking clock for me to find a significant other, and at my age, if I don’t find someone soon or settle, I’ll be alone. Unless I continue to be social and do an array of things to meet people of course.

The idea of being 21 and settling is really dumb. I was extremely turned off by this notion because I have a life full of people ahead of me. Will it be harder to find someone if I jump into work? Can’t say that I’ll meet less people than I do now.

This comment totally seems aimed at singles in their early twenties to make them start panicking and believing that only relationships now will equal marriage.

Fuck couple-ly couples who think being single means being a leper.
