My friend Jessica was recently diagnosed with leukemia. She is limited on time and we are hoping that she will be able to find a donor match. I would like to ask for your help! I would like to encourage you, your friends and family to become a donor today if you haven’t done so already. Even if you aren’t a match for Jessica, you could potentially safe someone else life!
You don’t need to necessarily organize or go to a donor drive to register. It can be as simple as registering online and they will mail home an “at-home” kit that you can do the cheek swab. Here are 2 ways you can register online!
1) Request a home-kit online http://www.aadp.org/homekit/ - Will receive a consent form and buccal swab test in 3-5 business days- English and Vietnamese consent forms available (recommended for language dependent donors)
2) Register online via promocode http://join.bethematch.org/jessica (will be available either today or tomorrow)- Complete the consent form online and will receive the buccal swab 2 weeks later- English ONLYNote: There is a suggested donation of $100 to cover the tissue typing cost, however, it is NOT needed to register
